Easter

Easter was great this year. We did most of our Easter celebration on Saturday so Sunday we could focus on Christ. My parents always did that for us and I really liked that we made Sunday about Christ instead of candy, eggs, and bunnies LOL, so Dan and I decided to carry on that tradition.

With that being said, Dan had studying to do on Saturday so instead of waking up and doing our Easter stuff first thing in the morning, we decided to wait until Dan got his stuff done and then spend the rest of the night as a family.

First thing we did was we had a little easter egg hunt for Jaxon in the back yard. We just hid a dozen plastic eggs with a few little things in them and some candy - he had a blast running around the yard and putting them in his blue bucket haha. He would get so excited when he would find another one and he would run so fast to it, pick it up, shake it, and then put it in the bucket! It was so dang cute. I filmed the entire thing so I didn't take pictures which I am so sad about - I totally wasn't even thinking about it - but oh well.

Then we came inside - opened the eggs, he had some candy, and it was time to look for his easter basket. We asked him "where do you like to hide Jaxon?" as a hint... he went to all his favorite hiding spots until he got to the one where his basket was haha - he was so excited when we opened it and he saw all the fun things in there!
He found his basket - don't mind the recess egg in his mouth LOL
He saw the new sippy cup first
Jaxon's Easter Loot
Getting so excited for dad to open his golf clubs
He loved pulling them around
the pro teaching Jax how it's done... I bet you can guess who got hit with the ball! They were aiming right at me! haha!

We opened his easter basket - let him play with some of his toys, and then it was time to dye easter eggs.

Jaxon loved coloring on the eggs with the crayon and then telling us which color to put the egg in to dye it.
The eggs were simple - Jax didn't have patience for doing much more - but I think they turned out great!
Mom and dads baskets!

It was such a fun day! I love my little family!

Sunday was a wonderful day as well, we had a great time at church learning about the Savior and remembering his sacrifice for us. We loved being able to relax, and enjoy each other on Sunday. Jaxon is so cute now and recognizes Jesus in all the pictures at church, so as we are walking down the halls in church he says Jesus every time he sees him - it made it more fun teaching him what Easter is really about when we would show him the pictures and he would recognize Jesus and get excited about him. We are grateful for our Savior and his sacrifice for us, and we are grateful that there is a day dedicated to remembering the resurrection. HAPPY EASTER!

I tried getting a picture of Jaxon in his easter outfit - and these were what I got. He says cheese now every time he sees a camera... so it makes it hard to get a cute smile - but at least I got to capture his funny personality! :) And we did get one family picture on Sunday as well! Yeah!

He loves his golf clubs - he had to play with them before we went to church

Repercussion from my freak out last night.

OK, so Dan got home last night not knowing ANYTHING that had been going on with me.
Dan was just at the law school AWAKE and working on his brief with apparently A LOT of other people. He was in the Library and didn't get reception on his phone so he didn't know I was trying to get a hold of him. Well when the Tech Police officer went in the law school, he started asking everyone if they knew where Dan Garner was. Dan never was contacted by the police officer, because he left - so when he got home, I told him everything and he was so embarrassed - AS WAS I. I felt bad that I had over reacted so much haha. We laughed it off and finally went to bed a little after 4:20am - right as we lay down, Dan's phone starts going crazy and all the text messages I sent came flooding in - he read them, we laughed again, and went to bed.

That brings us to today - poor Dan was flooded with questions about last night - people wondering why the police were looking for him - "were you in trouble?" "did something happen to Lisa or Jaxon?"

I wish someone would have told me that it is totally normal for the law students to be at the law school ALL FREAKING NIGHT finishing briefs so I wouldn't have done all of this HAHAHAHAHA- but oh well. I have been laughing about it all day and I know what NOT to do the next time :)

Little freakout - no big deal

It is 3:45am on Thursday April 21st right now. I woke up at 2:00am and noticed Dan still wasn't home, I felt bad for him that he was still working on his brief, figured he would be home soon, then fell back asleep. At 3:10 I woke up again. This time, I thought I would send him an encouraging text. He didn't respond. I tried calling. He didn't answer. Ok - he probably just fell asleep working on his brief. But I cant fall back asleep because I am worrying - worrying that something MIGHT be wrong or something MIGHT have happened. I don't have a car so I can't go drive to the law school to check and make sure he is ok. So what do I do? First I text one of his law school buddies who's number I actually have figuring he would still be awake working on his brief too. Luckily he was, but he was at home and so he didn't know if Dan was at the school or ok. So what next? Well - I called the 2 main hospitals here in Lubbock's ER centers to make sure he is not there. I first asked if they  had anyone by his name there - when they didn't, I then asked if there was someone brought in without identification, they said no. THANK HEAVENS. Ok I should feel better - but I still can't sleep, I'm still worried. So I call the police. (Now I know this is probably making me look like a crazy person - but seriously when you love someone and don't know if they are ok... you don't care how you look - you just want to make sure they are ok). The Police tell me that since he would be on school property I would have to call the Tech Police, they give me his number and I call. I let them know he probably just fell asleep but I want to make sure he is there. They told me they would send someone over and that I should call back in a few minutes. So this is what I am doing while I wait. I'm blogging about it. I knew I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep until I knew he was ok. I'm sure he is, and maybe he will be mad that I sent the Tech Police looking for him, but what else is a wife to do? This has made me REALLY REALLY REALLY want/need another car!
I'm going to call back now and see if they have found anything out......
They said his car is in the parking lot (phew.... good sign) and to call back in a few more mins and they will tell me if he is inside.
Just called back again - someone else at the law school (crazy that there are more people there at this late hour) just saw him leave. The police officer went out and his car was gone - he should be on his way home now.

Ok - so why I felt the need to freak out and worry - don't know, but I did, luckily I know he is on his way home. I'm signing off for the night/morning!

Easter Egg Hunt

Yesterday I took Jaxon to an Easter Egg Hunt that was being held at a park here in Lubbock. My cute friend Christy told me about it and we were able to make it shortly after it started. It was fun to be there with Christy, her son Riley, Audrey and her two kids Carter and Olivia.

I had Jaxon stay in his stroller - which I felt a little bad about since the point is to run around and pick up Easter Eggs, but I was in such a hurry to get out the door since I found out about it only a few mins before that I didn't even grab anything for Jaxon to put his eggs in! :( What a horrible mom am I? LOL. And I also couldn't stay long so I thought it would be better to just keep him in there instead of trying to chase him around and then deal with the tantrum which would surely follow when I tried to put him back in the stroller LOL. Regardless - he still loved being outside with all the other kids, getting eggs with fun things in them, and even seeing the Easter Bunny! He loved the Easter Bunny! He wanted me to follow him/her??? and he kept waving and saying hi over and over trying to get his/her attention. (is the Easter bunny a boy or girl?)

I am going to do an Easter Egg hunt for Jaxon in our backyard this Saturday so he can actually run around, get the eggs, and put them in his Easter basket! I feel like the Holidays have come back to life now that I have Jaxon to do things for and get excited for! Here are a few pictures of the event!

He wasn't happy that I wanted him to look at me instead of the bunny LOL

Countdown

Well as of today, my brother Landon will be home from his mission in 43 days!!! Technically there are only 39 more days until he is released, but my parents are going to pick him up so he wont be home for 43 days. It is actually PERFECT timing!!! Dan will finish his finals and we will have a few days to pack, get ready, and drive to Utah just in time to greet him at the airport! I am soooo excited for him to meet Jaxon. I have been teaching Jaxon how to say Landon so hopefully he will be able to say his name good when he meets him for the first time! Ahhhhhh I just love my little brother and I can't contain my excitement about having him home. It just makes everything better that we will be in Utah for the summer so I can spend some quality time with him. I know the timing of everything and the fact that Dan got the internship in Utah is a tender mercy from the Lord and I am so grateful for it!!!
