Summer Fun & Jaxon's Blessing

I haven't posted in a while so here are some fun things that have happened this summer!

Andrea - one of my best friends that I met in Ecuador, came up from California for a weekend! It was so good to see her again! We haven't seen each other since my wedding over 2 years ago! Since then she has had a baby so it was fun to be able to meet each other's sons! Her son Owen is 10 months old and crawling and almost walking! He is so cute and we had so much fun! We went to the gateway and watched the fountain. Both of our kids are to young to go in and play - but it was fun to have them watch! Here are a few pictures of that!

Jaxon Loves to be outside!

Jaxon and Owen - Jaxon is very transfixed on the fountains LOL

Me and Andrea!

All of us!

Next, Jaxon had his 2 month appointment! He is doing great! He is now (well on Aug 20th when he was weighed) 11 1/2 pounds and 23 1/4 inches long so he is in the 40th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height! He also got his shots at that visit and he did pretty good! It was so sad and hard to watch... I almost started crying when he did - but I managed to hold it together :) and then as soon as the nurse put his band aids on he stopped crying. Dan was with us at that appointment because we left right from there to go down to Cedar City! He got a fever that night because of the shots... but it was gone within 24 hours :)

Another fun thing that happend is we went to Cedar City to visit our cousins and see a play at the Shakespearian festival! This was our first family vacation since Jaxon has been born! I can't believe how much stuff you have to pack for a baby! It was pretty funny! Normally, we only have 2 suitcases, one for me and one for Dan, but now - we had those 2 for us, and then about 5 things for Jaxon! We had his stroller, his pack and play, a bag with his diapers, wipes, and bottles, another with his clothes, another with his blankets and toys for his crib - it was pretty funny but it all fit in our trunk and Jaxon slept the entire 4 hour drive so that was really nice!

Dan and Jaxon taking a nap
Waking up from the nap... nice hair Dan

Because of his fever, we would put a cool wash cloth on his head - he thought it was funny
This is Jaxon and Gavin (Dan's cousins baby who is a month younger than Jaxon)

This was at the green show before the play started... Jaxon slept through it all! But I loved it!

These were all the shows at the festival this year!

We saw the comedy of errors and it was SO FUNNY! We were lucky to get front row seats right in the middle so we actually got interacted with during the play - it was a lot of fun!

The next big event was Jaxon's blessing. We blessed him last Sunday September 6th! Dan gave Jaxon a BEAUTIFUL blessing! We are so lucky to have so many family and friends that are close by to support us! Before church we took a family picture and we took pictures of Jaxon. He was in such a good mood we got a lot of cute ones! He was asleep for the blessing so we didn't have to worry about him crying at all! And his blessing outfit is actually the outfit my little brother Landon wore when he was blessed. We thought it would be a nice way to include Landon since he is on his mission and couldn't be here for it. Here are some pictures of Jaxons special day!

Our Family!

Jaxon slept during all of sacrament meeting and the entire get together afterwards! This is him while the rest of us are eating, talking, and having fun lol.

Here are some pictures of the yummy food we had and the amazing family and friends who came to support! We love you all!

After a long day, here are the guys relaxing. Jaxon loves to be one of the guys and sit up like a big boy!
I am so lucky to have Jaxon in my life - he has brought Dan and I so much joy! This is what I get to go to bed to every night!
And this is what I wake up to every morning!
I love being a mom! This summer has been so much fun! And we are now looking forward to fall and the fun Holidays coming up!

My Little Man

I don't really have anything significant to write about, just want to say how much I LOVE being a mom! Oh my goodness! Life is so much better with a child! I may regret saying that later haha - but right now it is just bliss! He is so precious! I decided to try and get some cute naked pictures of him like they do at the photo studios and that was an adventure for sure - but I got some really cute ones! Here are 2 that I liked the best!

2 Weeks & Sleep

So yesterday Jaxon turned 2 weeks old LOL. I can't believe how much he has changed already! He is already getting so big! His Jaundice is gone and at his last appt he had gained some weight so he was almost back up to his birth weight!

I have decided that the Lord made it so new born babies sleep a lot so the mom's can sleep too! I guess giving birth takes a lot out of you because even though I take naps during the day sometimes, I still don't feel rested haha!
But being a mom is the most wonderful thing in the world! Dan and I were talking the other day and we don't know what we would do without Jaxon! He is such a blessing in our lives and since we have had him, we have been asking ourselves why we waited so long to bring him into the world. Maybe we were just being selfish and wanted to do other things first, but he has made every aspect of our lives better so we are not sure why we waited so long.

Speaking of that - Dan and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on Friday. Well we didn't really do anything since I am still not 100%, we are going to wait a month or so and then celebrate it, but we were able to go to one of my best friends weddings that night. Jen and Andrew got married on Friday and it was a beautiful wedding! We were honored to be there and we are excited we will be sharing our anniversary with them! We love them both and wish them all the happiness in the world as they are starting their new lives together. WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

Jaxon Jeffrey Garner

He is finally here! Jaxon was born on June 16, 2009 at 5:41pm. He weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 21 inches long! I can't believe how amazing it is to be a mom! Dan and I are so happy and can't believe how much we love him! He is such a good baby, he hardly ever cries and we are very thankful for that! The delivery went well, I had a few MINOR complications after which have caused my whole body to swell! My feet and hands are HUGE and my face has even swelled up too - they say it takes about a week to go down so I am hoping that I start to look like a normal person tomorrow or soon after.

Jaxon had jaundice (if that is how you spell it) so he has been on lights. We are lucky though because the hospital gave us some to bring home so he didn't have to stay at the hospital. We got to take him off today and tomorrow we will get his blood tested again. If the levels have gone down then we don't have to do the lights anymore! The poor little guy has had his heel pricked almost every day since he was born and I am so happy that we won't have to do that anymore!

Well - below are pictures of my cute little man and some from Fathers Day as well. Dan, Jaxon, and I both love our dad's/grandpa's and are so grateful for EVERYTHING they do for us! They are so amazing and we couldn't ask for more!

And now to the new father. Dan has been the most AMAZING husband through everything. During my pregnancy, delivery, and now. He is already a great father to Jaxon and I can't believe how much closer having our little guy has brought us! I don't know what I would do without him! I love you Dan! Thank you for everything you do for Jaxon and me. You are the best and WE love you!

Almost Here

So 2 weeks ago I went in for my 36 week checkup. This is when the dr. starts to check you and see if you are progressing. Well I had great news that week! I was already 70% effaced and 1 ½ cm dilated. Then last week, at 37 weeks, she checked again and I was 80% effaced and 3 cm dilated! I was so excited! She told me that my body is progressing great and that I could have the baby any time! She even said she wouldn’t be surprised if I had him that weekend, well I obviously didn’t! So tomorrow I go in for my 38 week checkup… I really hope I have progressed more because as much as I have loved being pregnant and sharing my body with my cute son… I am ready to be done with this part.

We have his crib up and everything is basically ready for him to be here except for a few minor things, and I think that is what is making it so hard as well, seeing all his cute clothes and toys and smelling the baby wash and not being able to use it yet lol! Pregnancy has been a great experience, I have had a VERY easy pregnancy compared to a lot of women and I am very grateful for that, and I’m sure once it is all over I will miss being able to feel him move inside of me, but right now, all I can think about is holding him, rocking him, feeding him, bathing him, dressing him and being able to finally play with him and see him! My goal over the past little bit has been to “live in the moment” and “find joy in the journey” and I truly am so happy right now and looking back on the past 9 months, I have been so happy going through this amazing experience, but I can’t help but look ahead a few weeks and want that to be here so badly. I don’t want to be one of those people that feel like “I’ll be happy when……” but I will be happy when my son is finally here! HAHA!
