Update

I am now 25 weeks! Things are going great! We had our follow up ultra sound on Feb 18th since we were not able to see everything during the first ultra sound. Jaxon is doing great and they were able to see everything this time which put our minds at ease! I am actually home from work today and I stayed home yesterday because I have had a horrible cold!!! It is very true what they say that when you are pregnant it takes A LOT longer to get better! This is the worst cold I have ever had! I called the doctor to find out what I could take and when I was describing my symptoms she told me I have the beginning stages of pneumonia and she called in an antibiotic so I won't get it - and that has been helping a lot - but its very frustrating because I am not getting better! But I'm sure it will pass soon! Last Saturday my mom and I went to USA baby because they were having a one day sale and we bought the crib for Jaxon! I was so excited! We got a great deal and I feel good about having a few things checked off the long list of things we need haha.

Some other great news is that my cute little brother Landon got his mission call on Wednesday March 4th! He is going to Independence Missouri and he leaves on May 6th! I am sad that he won't be here to see Jaxon be born, but it will be good for him to leave, he has been ready for a while now so it will be great and I am so excited and proud of him! We have so much going on in the next few months and I just feel like the rest of my pregnancy is going to fly by - I can't believe I am already 25 weeks! I feel so unprepared! I mean I know I still have my showers coming up an I'll get a lot of stuff from that and I know I need to wait until after those to go shopping and getting the rest of what I need, but I just feel like I need to get it all right now! Haha - someone told me it was the "nesting" stage - not really sure what that means, but I am just getting antsy and I want to get it all done right now haha. I have made a list of everything we need and Dan and I are currently looking into the different brands of strollers and car seats and all of that – so here is my question… to you who are moms – WHAT BRANDS ARE THE BEST AND WHAT IS A MUST HAVE AND WHAT CAN YOU DO WITHOUT? Any advice is much appreciated!

  1. I had Coast a few weeks early, so I didn't have anything ready I mean ANYTHING! I hadn't even had my showers yet. So I know how you feel about wanting to get things and start getting prepared, and my advice is you should. You NEVER know when he wants to come.... You don't need a changing table, its just going to be a waste of a lot of money. I always always use the floor! My jogger and car seat are Babytrend, and I have loved it.. I think everyone is going to tell you something different so you just have to try things out for yourself! Good Luck, this is so exciting.....

  3. hey lisa! this is so cute! tell landon congrats for us! thats awesome. my stroller is an eddie bauer edition travel system(means it comes with stroller and carseat) and we LOVE it. here is a link to look at it http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2627244. it comes with the base to put in the car for the carseat so you don't have to buckle it it every time which is a LIFESAVER! and the stroller is amazing! it is SO easy to fold up, you only have to use one hand. really, it's fantastic! we got ours at shopko, but just look around. hope this helps! let me know if you need anything!

  4. I went to Babies-R-Us last weekend and I am SO everwhelmed! Who knew there was so much involved in having a baby?! We started our list too so I'll be interested to see what people say in response to your question! Good luck with everything! It's nice to have someone not too far ahead of me to talk to!

  5. I can't give advice on that Mom stuff yet, but I can tell you something cool - we live in the Independence Missouri Mission!!!!! :) So if he ever gets transfered out here to Kansas, that would be awesome!!! :) We love feeding the missionaries. He'll be great!

  6. So I went baby shopping the other day and had the BEST salesman, he was very sincere and I didn't feel like his was pushing us towards the expensive stuff you don't need! He said pretty much all brands are great and vary depending on what you are looking for in the product, but to watch out for the brand Cosco. He said they have by far the most problems with that brand and the most complaints. So maybe that will help!!

  7. I am so excited for you guys and love to read your updates. I can't believe i am saying this but i kinda miss being pregnant and now with maddox growing up so fast imiss the little baby:( but anyway, when i picked out a stroller/ carseat i went with the best in safety. I got the CHICCO. best idea!I loved it! The thing that is cool is in Europe the test the seat going 60 mph and on all sides but in the US they only test at 20mph and only the front and back:( Hmmm kinda weird i know but as i was doing my research that was the best at the time... so last year. A lot of new things have been coming out so it might help to check consumer reports. Hope that helps!!

  8. Hello Love! I am so excited for you. We have Evenflo. We love them, it's simple and easy to use. We have our travel system and our high chair by them and they are great. I read some of the other comments and the other brands mentioned are good too. It's really just what you like. Sean an dI went to the store and tried out different ones. You could always do that too. Let me know if you need help with anything. BY THE WAY! We'll be in Utah August 13th - August 16th, so we BETTER get together. :)

    LOVE YOU TONZ!

  11. SO, I know this is my third comment but I couldn't resist. We have the Graco MetroLite Travel System and I LOVE it. It has the base which is awesome because you don't have to buckle the carseat in every time. I was able to fold the stroller up with one hand while holding a squirming newborn with the other...and the cup and snack tray unlock which Mazie loves now because she can climb in and out of the stroller on her own as a toddler. It was a LIFESAVER in Disneyland...not having to lift her up and down every time she wanted in the stroller. Anna and Rhys were pretty jealous about it. As far as things I can't live without...for us it was the baby swing. When Mazie was a newborn she would not sleep laying down...she'd wake up every 45 minutes and it was exhausting...but put her in that swing and she'd sleep for a few hours at a time. It saved my sanity on a number of occasions. We just got a cheap travel one, but it works. Good luck with getting everything ready!!
