Merry Christmas

We didn't get a chance to send out a Christmas card this year - so this is our Christmas card!

We hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that you are all surrounded by loved ones this Holiday season. We also hope that everyone remembers the true meaning of Christmas and that you all take a moment during this busy time of year to think about our Savior. We are so grateful to all of our family and friends and the love and support they continually give us! We love you all!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Jaxon's 6 month appointment

Jaxon had his 6 month appointment today and all is well. He weighs just over 18 pounds which makes him in the 60th percentile, and he is 28 and 1/4 inches long which puts him in the 94th percentile. He is growing well and we are so happy that he is healthy! He had the H1N1 shot today as well as the flu shot and all the other shots they get at 6 months. I always hate it when he gets shots, it is so sad, but he is usually cuddly after because he doesn't feel good - and I like cuddling with him.

We have a lot going on the next few days so I will post pictures of all our fun parties and activities after Christmas. Jaxon will be playing baby Jesus in 2 natavities this year which I am so excited about!

6 months

Yesterday was Jaxon's 6 month birthday (half birthday). I can't believe he is 6 months old already! Part of me feels like time has just flown by, and the other part of me feels like it was just yesterday that we welcomed him into the world.

He has brought so much joy into our lives and we are so lucky he is our son!!! We had a little party yesterday for him! It was fun - here are just a few pictures. :)

This last picture doesn't really have to do with his party - I just thought it was cute - he was helping Dan with a paper for finals haha :)

Family Pictures

We had our first family pictures taken a little while ago by my cousin Colby. He is a photographer, and an AMAZING one at that. He was able to capture the cutest moments our family had. I am so happy with the way these pictures turned out! If anyone is looking for a photographer, check out his website at http://www.colbykochphotography.com/

There are several more awesome pictures, but these are some of our favorites!

Halloween

So I know Halloween was about a month- but I never posted pictures and I feel bad because Jaxon looked adorable and Dan carved a mean pumpkin - so I am posting them now.

We went and got a pumpkin Halloween day and carved it before all the trick-or-treaters came around. And if you can't tell by the pictures, I was little red riding hood, Dan was the wolf - and Jaxon was an adorable bunny lol. Dan was a bunny his frist Halloween, so we thought we would keep that a tradition so Jaxon  wore the same bunny ears his dad did. Awwww how cute :)

Fall

Where did fall go? This is my favorite time of year and I feel like it gets shorter and shorter every year. We were going to drive through the mountains to see the leaves a few days ago and it was snowing in the mountains so we decided not to. SNOWING! That is for winter, not fall! I am not ready for winter yet - so please please please fall, stay a little longer!

First Week

So this first week of my new lifestyle has been great! I ate less, better, drank more water, and exercised! I got on the scale and my results....

I'M DOWN 2.6 POUNDS!

Right on track.... I figure I could REALLY cut back and ONLY eat healthy foods and lose more quickly, but let's be honest here - everyone knows I can't live like that, so even though this is going to be a slow process.... it is worth it because again, this is not a DIET, I am changing the way I live.

So the first week has been a success and I can't wait to report my successes next week!

YEAH FOR ME!

Getting in Shape

I have officially decided that it is MY TURN to get in shape and be happy with my body! It has been a long time since I have felt that way and now after having a baby - my body is definitely different! This is hard for me to talk about in something that I know friends and family read, but I feel like if I let everyone know that this is what I am doing, it will be easier for me to do it because I will have support from family and friends. So here is what I want to happen.

THE GOAL
- Lose 40 - 50 pounds by the first of February 2010

THE PLAN
- Eat less, eat healthier, and drink more water
- Exercise everyday for at least 30 min
- Lose 2.5 pounds a week

I have been doing this for not even a week now and I already feel better! I am on my way to becoming the woman I want to be and it feels GREAT!

Summer Fun & Jaxon's Blessing

I haven't posted in a while so here are some fun things that have happened this summer!

Andrea - one of my best friends that I met in Ecuador, came up from California for a weekend! It was so good to see her again! We haven't seen each other since my wedding over 2 years ago! Since then she has had a baby so it was fun to be able to meet each other's sons! Her son Owen is 10 months old and crawling and almost walking! He is so cute and we had so much fun! We went to the gateway and watched the fountain. Both of our kids are to young to go in and play - but it was fun to have them watch! Here are a few pictures of that!

Jaxon Loves to be outside!

Jaxon and I in front of the fountain!

Jaxon and Owen - Jaxon is very transfixed on the fountains LOL

Me and Andrea!

All of us!

Next, Jaxon had his 2 month appointment! He is doing great! He is now (well on Aug 20th when he was weighed) 11 1/2 pounds and 23 1/4 inches long so he is in the 40th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height! He also got his shots at that visit and he did pretty good! It was so sad and hard to watch... I almost started crying when he did - but I managed to hold it together :) and then as soon as the nurse put his band aids on he stopped crying. Dan was with us at that appointment because we left right from there to go down to Cedar City! He got a fever that night because of the shots... but it was gone within 24 hours :)

Another fun thing that happend is we went to Cedar City to visit our cousins and see a play at the Shakespearian festival! This was our first family vacation since Jaxon has been born! I can't believe how much stuff you have to pack for a baby! It was pretty funny! Normally, we only have 2 suitcases, one for me and one for Dan, but now - we had those 2 for us, and then about 5 things for Jaxon! We had his stroller, his pack and play, a bag with his diapers, wipes, and bottles, another with his clothes, another with his blankets and toys for his crib - it was pretty funny but it all fit in our trunk and Jaxon slept the entire 4 hour drive so that was really nice!

Dan and Jaxon taking a nap
Waking up from the nap... nice hair Dan

Because of his fever, we would put a cool wash cloth on his head - he thought it was funny
This is Jaxon and Gavin (Dan's cousins baby who is a month younger than Jaxon)

This was at the green show before the play started... Jaxon slept through it all! But I loved it!

These were all the shows at the festival this year!

We saw the comedy of errors and it was SO FUNNY! We were lucky to get front row seats right in the middle so we actually got interacted with during the play - it was a lot of fun!

The next big event was Jaxon's blessing. We blessed him last Sunday September 6th! Dan gave Jaxon a BEAUTIFUL blessing! We are so lucky to have so many family and friends that are close by to support us! Before church we took a family picture and we took pictures of Jaxon. He was in such a good mood we got a lot of cute ones! He was asleep for the blessing so we didn't have to worry about him crying at all! And his blessing outfit is actually the outfit my little brother Landon wore when he was blessed. We thought it would be a nice way to include Landon since he is on his mission and couldn't be here for it. Here are some pictures of Jaxons special day!

Our Family!

Jaxon slept during all of sacrament meeting and the entire get together afterwards! This is him while the rest of us are eating, talking, and having fun lol.

Here are some pictures of the yummy food we had and the amazing family and friends who came to support! We love you all!

After a long day, here are the guys relaxing. Jaxon loves to be one of the guys and sit up like a big boy!
I am so lucky to have Jaxon in my life - he has brought Dan and I so much joy! This is what I get to go to bed to every night!
And this is what I wake up to every morning!
I love being a mom! This summer has been so much fun! And we are now looking forward to fall and the fun Holidays coming up!
