Here is what the invitations looked like that we sent out.
We kept it to family since we did it on Sunday so we had a total of 20 people. It was so much fun!
I had the front door decorated with an Andy's room sign and balloons - and then when you walked inside there were army men parachuting through the air into the party room.
We had some fun toy story things around the house and I tried to keep everything in toy story colors.
We had delicious food - we had Buzz Lightyears UFO Burgers - Slinky's Winner Dogs - Mr. Potato Head's Potato Salad - Bo Peep's Fruit and Berries - Woody's Roundup Salad, and Alien Juice.
I made Jaxon a cake of Andy's bed with the Toy Story characters on it. It was my first time working with fondant and I have to admit it was harder than I thought it was going to be - but I think it turned out ok.
We started off by eating dinner - it was delicious - then we did cake and ice cream and sang Happy Birthday to Jaxon. He loved it when we sang to him. He smiled the entire time and clapped and yelled YEAH when we finished.
I filmed us singing to him and blowing out the candles - so I will have to get the still shots of that from someone else - but he was so excited to play with all the toys from the cake and he loved eating cake and ice cream!
Next we played games - we played "snake in my boot" - we just had a boot and three little plastic snakes and everyone had 3 chances to make the snake in the boot. Funny thing - I was the only one who did it HAHA! We also had a jar of army men and people had to guess how many were in there. The other game was putting the star on sheriff woody -but we didn't end up getting to that lol.
Then it was present time! we all gathered around for Jax to open all his gifts. He had a hard time staying focused because he just wanted to play with the gift he had just opened. It was so funny! He got lots of awesome bubbles - water stuff - toy story toys - transformer fishing set - a learning laptop - money - and his favorite - buzz lightyear. He had so much fun and we are so grateful for everyone who came and for the wonderful gifts they gave Jax and for just being there - it made his birthday so special to have family around!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAXON!!!! I can't believe he's two! I'm so glad Utah is so awesome for you guys. And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!! (I read the previous post too. :) ) Sounds like an awesome day.
ReplyDeleteI just have to say that I think your cake is adorable. You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I wish we could have been there!!!! How cute! You are such a great mom and make life so much fun for Jaxon. Everything looked perfect. Happy Birthday Jaxon! Oh and that is HILARIOUS about the balloons! Haha, I could just picture you freaking out inside. Don't worry, i had a very similar thing happen to me years ago. Don't you just hate when neighbors trust you with garage codes. haha.
ReplyDeleteLet's see I'm going to guess laurel lindley, but I'm not sure. There are a couple women in the ward I could see having helium tanks lying around. You did a great job with the cake. Everything looked so fun!
