Funny Stories

Story #1
The other day Jaxon and I were down the street from my parents house at Sunrise Elementary playing on the playground. He got off the slide and started acting like he wanted to get in the stroller to go, but then he pushed it and it started flying towards the street - I ran to stop it and Jax ran the other way down this ramp towards the parking lot. Now this was later in the day so most all the teachers had gone home, but there was one car in the parking lot. After I got the stroller I started going after Jax. I noticed there was a man walking towards his car and Jaxon is not too far behind him. I know EXACTLY what Jaxon is thinking so I start running and telling him to stop. As soon as the man opened his car door Jaxon sped up and was running faster than I ever seen him run. The man was oblivious to all of this - or was choosing not too look, but right before he shut his car door Jaxon dives onto the floor by the gas pedals. The man is shocked/surprised and I get to the car right after it happened. I'm of coarse really embarrassed but trying to hold back laughing. The guy luckily wasn't mad and just said, "wow he sure wants to get away from you" to which I replied "no - he just REALLY wants to drive your car". We both had a laugh as I am reaching into this strangers car to retrieve my son. Jaxon said "bye see ya" to the nice stranger and waved as I carried him away. WOW - I don't need to be worried about Jaxon being kidnapped, I need to be worried about him jumping into a kidnappers car.

Story #2
Sunday, June 26th, was my brother Landon's homecoming. Sacrament meeting has always been a challenge for us because Jaxon just doesn't like to hold still or whisper. Now - he loves to be in the chapel so taking him out when he is not behaving is just as hard as trying to keep him calm while in the chapel. Some of the stuff he does during church are... when a prayer is being said, he wants to say it too - so he folds his arms and mumbles and says Amen really loud while the prayer is being said (cause his prayers are short). When we are singing, he likes to lead and sing really loud. When the sacrament is being passed his yells PLEASE every time a tray passes us because he wants to eat the bread and drink the water. This is where we usually have to go out and wait until the sacrament is over before we can go back in. He also likes to interact with EVERYONE around us but doesn't do it quietly. Anyway - back to last Sunday - so my brother was the last speaker and except for the little bit during the sacrament that we had to take him out... he was doing OK - so my brother is finally speaking and he started getting really restless, so I decided I just needed to take him out - so we start walking out and Jaxon YELLS "bye... bye.... LANDON BYE!!!" He was getting so frustrated that Landon wasn't responding that he was yelling REALLY loud LOL. I of coarse turn bright red and see all our friends and families shoulders moving up and down as they are laughing as I make it out the doors. Needless to say we got a LOT of comments about that at our little get together after church. Luckily people thought it was cute cause I was just really embarrassed.

  1. Oh my H jaxon is so cute and funny!! First, from Story #1, that would terrify me because of the fact that he is WAY too comfortable around strangers and getting into cars. haha, but that was so funny. I honestly couldn't stop laughing as I was reading it. I was just picturing all this going on. Second, Story #2, this is absolutely adorable and very normal. That stuff happens all the time in our ward. We have kids who will crawl away from their families and run up to the stage and start talking to everyone during talks or kids who will run back inside after being taken out yelling "No!"...Owen does not do this, but there are kids who will. Owen will just yell, "I wanna go home" during the middle of someone's talk because he's bored. Haha. Or recently he's been having some really bad gas and will fart and, man oh man, he can clear out a row...I feel so bad for those sitting around us. Also, Sean doesn't let him take the sacrament so we don't have the "please" problem when they pass the trays. I really want to sit through church with you after reading this...it sounds like it'd be so eventful and entertaining! :)
