A couple of weeks after my mom left - one of my best friends Jen flew out to stay with us for a week. Aunt Jen is loved around here. She is so great with Jaxon and wouln't let Addison get put down... EVER haha. If I had to do something she made sure she was holding Addy instead of her being put in the swing or on the floor. Jen and Addy loved cuddling :). It was so sweet of her to take a week off work and fly out here to spend time with us! Jaxon was so sad when she left - he loved all the attention! I didn't take any pictures which I am so sad about... so she will just have to come again soon so I can get some!
Then the next week Dan's family made the LONG drive from Utah to Lubbock to be here for Addisons blessing. They got in Lubbock Friday night and left early Monday morning. It was a short trip but we were SOOOOO glad they made it! They were able to meet Addison, hold her, and spend time with us! We loved every second they were here! This was the first time they have been to Lubbock since we moved here so they got to see where we live, the Law school that Dan spends WAY too many hours at haha and play with Jaxon who misses all of them! I loved having our house full of family! We were so sad when they left!
Addison was blessed on March 4, 2012. Dan did a great job with her blessing. We were so lucky to have family and friends in the circle supporting us. Addison was blessed in the dress I was blessed in. I loved that my mom kept it and it was in such good condition. I think she just looked BEAUTIFUL in it and I loved knowing that I wore that dress too. Maybe one day her daughter can wear it! After the blessing all the family came back to our house and we spent the day together playing games, eating yummy food, talking, and celebrating sweet Addison (who slept most of the time haha) Here are a few shots of Addy's blessing day and our wonderful visitors! (Not shown in the pictures are Grandma Lockhart, Jake, and Uncle Brad and Aunt Ghyslaine. Brad and Ghyslaine came from San Antonio to be with us for the blessing. We are so lucky to have them in our lives! We love them so much!)
And finally - I decided to do a little photoshoot with Addison since our student budget doesn't allow us to get them done professionally haha. Part of me wishes I would have done it when she was younger so she would sleep through it - but I love that I was able to catch some of her cute expressions. My friend Melia made the tutu and bow for her hair and I love how she looks in them! Here are just a few of my favorite pictures of that little shoot.
Wow! You really did have so many visitors! How fun :) Dan did great on Addy's blessing. I love when dad's say things other then the typical "marry in the temple, read the scriptures, find an RM, ect(of course those things are good too)." He said so many unique things which I think is special :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to have visitors but isn't it SO sad when they leave!? :( Addison looks SO beautiful in her blessing dress! SO sad I missed it, but glad for pics! :)
ReplyDeleteCUTE tutu pics!!! :)
I'm so glad that you've had some friends and family come visit and be there for support, and especially to celebrate her blessing day! I wish we could have come visit, but we'll just have to settle for seeing you this summer!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again on such a darling sweet addition to your family. You all look so good and happy. Welcome little angel.
