I can't believe the summer is already over. It has just flown by. I remember thinking 3 months was so long to be away from Lubbock and in some ways it really has been, but it has also gone by so fast!
Dan is working his last day at his internship today. It has been such a good experience for him and he really enjoyed it! He has also been playing in a softball league while we have been here and he has his last game tonight. It was such a fun thing for him to get to play once a week with his dad, brothers, and friends. They had so much fun and we loved getting to see them play!
Tomorrow we will be busy packing and getting things ready to go to CABO SAN LUCAS MEXICO! I am so excited for a vacation, but at the same time... very nervous about leaving our little boy for an entire week. I'm not nervous for him - he is in the very best hands with his papa and GG (Dan's parents), uncles Mike, Ryan, and Jake, and aunt Brittany. And our friends Jen and Andrew are going to take him for a little bit of the time too. He is loved and adored by all of these people so I know he will be well taken care of... I am just nervous for me. How am I going to handle it, how I am going to survive being away from him for that long. But again, I'm very excited for the vacation and I'm sure I will have a great time - we will leave Saturday morning and come back a week later on Saturday night. The next day, Sunday morning we are having family pictures done with my family and then that afternoon we are going to my brother in laws mission farewell and then we drive home because Dan has to be back to the school Monday by 3:00pm. AHHHHHHH! So it looks like we will be driving all night, but we will see. I am starting to get stressed about when I am going to pack and load the car (packing is such a stressful experience for me - it has been ever since I can remember - it takes me way longer than I'm sure it should and I usually cry at least once during the ordeal haha).
We have loved being here in Utah this summer, getting to be here when my brother came home from his mission, getting to go to St. George for the Koch family reunion, getting to go boating and jet skiing with my family, getting to have BBQ's with Dan's family, having date nights with free babysitters, being able to watch Dan's brother Ryan open his call and also be here for his farewell before he leaves for 2 years, taking Jaxon to the zoo for the first time, being able to announce our pregnancy to our families in person, but mostly just being able to spend lots of time with family and friends that we have missed since our move.
It's going to be hard to leave, but it will be good to get back to OUR life in Lubbock and get back to our house, friends, and continue the Law school journey!
I am so jealous of your Cabo trip! HAve fun and we will see you soon!
ReplyDeleteDrive safely back to Lub! :)
P.s packing the car is an ordeal for me too!
Yay, Happy vacation!! So nice to get away. And I too get super overwhelmed packing, like I am doing right now to also leave tomorrow morning. Its harder packing for 4, UGH!! Have a great time:)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your gone. At least we did a 5k together. You were such a sport and you know you loved me for dragging you out. Enjoy your trip, your little sweet pea is in the best hands. You and Dan have so much going on with new baby and law school so just savor every minute alone and a week off from diaper changing. Much love if I don't see you before you leave. xoxoxo Marcy
