Trip to Cabo San Lucas Mexico

I have been excited for this trip for... well longer than Dan and I have been married. See, my parents talked about going for a year or so, and then after I got married (like right after) they decided to go. I couldn't get anymore time off of work since I had just taken 3 weeks off to get married, so Dan and I didn't go. When they got back they said we would go again as a family sometime. Well, we finally did! I have to admit that after I found out I was pregnant in May - I was a little worried about how it would affect the trip. I know that is so bad but since I had been looking forward to this for 5 YEARS - I wanted it to be great! Luckily, it was everything I had hoped and dreamed it would be. I didn't mention I was pregnant to the people when we went para-sailing or when we swam with the dolphins because for some reason - they say pregnant women cannot do those activities. I prayed before both and felt very calm and ok about it and I was totally fine so I'm glad I didn't ditch out on those. The only activity I didn't do was a 3 hour ATV ride on the beach. That one I'm glad I didn't do because my family said it was VERY bumpy and my brother even flew off his while riding (obviously because he was trying to do a 180 or something, but still) so the trip was amazing!

I have to admit I had a couple of meltdowns because we didn't take Jaxon with us, but this was NOT a trip for a 2 year old and it was really nice to actually relax and not be running after him all the time. He was left in great hands with Dan's family and our friends Jen and Andrew and he seemed to do just fine without us. Since we have been back though he has been VERY clingy to me haha - but I'm sure that will wear off.

Saturday was the first day, we just flew there - got some grocery's settled into the resort, went out to dinner, and then went swimming.

Sunday we went to church... yes we are those weird people that go to church on vacations LOL - I actually LOVE going, especially when we are somewhere like this and it was all in Spanish but you could still feel the spirit - we also ran into 4 other couples that were on vacation that came to church and they all went to the same highschool as my dad and all graduated around the same time. It was like a high school reunion! The rest of Sunday we just swam and relaxed.

Monday we got up and went to a time share presentation. Anyone that has been to Cabo knows that there are "sharks" at the airport that try to get you to come listen to these presentations. The perk is they give you free stuff and discounts on activities as well as a delicious buffet breakfast at the amazing resort they are trying to get you to become a member of and anyone that isn't listening to the presentation (all of us kids) got to hang out in their pools while my parents went. This is actually the way to do it if you are willing to give up a few hours of your day because the perks are TOTALLY worth it - we saved hundreds of dollars! Anyway - so Monday was mostly that - then eating at a delicious Mexican restaurant for lunch, playing at the beach, and swimming in the pool.

Tuesday was ATVing day. My family had a blast and Dan LOVED it. That night we went out to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe for my sister in law Jordyn's birthday. It was so much fun and when they sang happy birthday to her - it was the BEST happy birthday "announcement" I have EVER seen at a restaurant. I don't know if all Hard Rock's do it that way or not - but I was really impressed.

Wednesday was this 6 hour boat tour on the Fantasea that took us to 3 different beaches in Cabo and we would get off the boat, go snorkeling and kayaking - get back on, go to the next beach and do it again. I LOVED it. I love snorkeling and can't wait to get certified to go scuba diving after I have this baby. They also served DELICIOUS Mexican food and free drinks (which is fun for all the people that like to get drunk - and fun for the people that like to laugh at all the drunk people haha). That night Dan and I had a date night and went out on our own for dinner. We went to this great place that had a live Mexican band playing that would walk around and take song requests. I requested "Tango La Camisa Negra" because it was one of my favorite songs to listen to while I was in Ecuador, it was AWESOME!

Thursday we went parasailing. This was so much fun as well - I have never been and was a little scared. Dan and I were the first couple to go and towards the end of our ride the driver turned and we slowly starting going down toward the water - we kept getting closer and closer and I of coarse start getting REALLY scared that we are going to drop down into the water - but the driver sped the boat up and we went right back up in the air. I guess it is part of the ride cause they did it to everyone but since I had never seen or done it before I was scared. It was actually REALLY fun when it caught and you flew back up in the air. So Parasailing was a blast as well. That night we ate at Jonny Rockets (I think that is what it is called) and there was a REALLY drunk guy sitting behind us that was in the Navy (a Navy ship came and stopped in Cabo to give all the guys some R&R for a couple of days) and he was singing to my little sister and hitting on her and asking us all these really awkward questions - it was SO funny! Made our night!

Friday was one of my favorite days - we got to go swimming with the dolphins. It was so freaking cool! We had a dolphin for the 8 of us and she would do a bunch of tricks while we were sitting right there in the water on a ledge, and then one by one we got in the water, she gave us a kiss on the cheek, then a kiss on the lips and then we danced with her - then we actually got to grab her fins and she took us for a ride around the pool. It was so cool. I want a pet dolphin LOL - is that allowed?

We also went shopping in the little flea markets several times and we swam in the pool and sat in the hot tub at the resort every night.

Saturday we just got up - packed - and came home.

There was a lot of relaxing going on which is JUST what I needed. I was the perfect vacation!
